Hopefully you guys might remember Collectors Club from one of our posts way back in May for their debut single "First To Know". Well the brits are back with their brand new single "Wanna Be You" after a 5 month hiatus. This particular single still has all the great guitar work that got me hooked from the very beginning but like all bands, given the time and space, they have matured greatly. Enjoying this one immensely!

[Indie - Pop] Leapling - Seventeen
There's a silly innocence behing "Seventeen", the first single under Brooklyn based Leapling, that feels strangely addictive in the purest way. As utterly simple and naive as "Seventeen" may seem, its soulfulness refrains it from turning into an annoying radio ballade. It's not exactly often that lyrics going "baby, we can do it if we try, everything is simple with you" actually feels so truthfully honest.

[Folk - Pop] Angus Stone - True Colors (Cyndi Lauper Cover)
As part of MTV's Cover The World competition, Angus Stone has delivered a stirring cover of a Cyndi Lauper (no it's not Kasey Chambers..) classic "True Colors". It's a little bit sexy I think, a much different take on the original, I would say it is more of a rework. The deep bass lines, haunting vocals and that jazz infused vibe makes for a truly memorable cover. Angus has a good chance at winning this competition so get voting!

[Indie - Pop] Pear Shape - The Coca Cola Kid
Sydney indie - poppers Pear Shape's debut EP is sooo much fun! Their sound is playful, but each song offers more than the just fun poppy layer on top. "The Coca Cola Kid" is the lead single (released back in February) off the recently released EP and it is ridiculously good. Catchy melodies, diary entry lyrics and a real vibrant sound makes this song so memorable. There are some clear influences here from the likes of Vampire Weekend.

[Indie - Pop] Jubilants - Fiasco
Sydney four piece Jubilants are back with their brand new single "Fiasco" after the success of their second single "Spain". Well it has been awhile and the wait was definitely worth it. Those sexy guitar riffs make this another infectious indie pop number from the talented Sydney outfit. The quartet's haunting vocals and palpitating beat will no doubt charm the pants off you in seconds. Let's hope we don't have to wait as long for the next release!

[Electronic] The Bloody Beetroots - Chronicles Of A Fallen Love ft. Greta Svabo Bech
Brand new track from The Bloody Beetroots - "Chronicles Of A Fallen Love". This one features the vocals of the familiar Greta Svabo Bech who featured in Deadmau5' "Raise Your Weapon". It's a solid electro house track and it seems to me that The Bloody Beetroots are heading back towards their roots with a more progressive feel. I should be saying Beetroot because the italian outfit is now singular unfortunately.

[Dream - Pop] Trails and Ways - Border Crosser
After releasing some relatively successful covers in the past month, here we have Trails and Ways gearing up for their debut full length album Trilingual. "Border Crosser" will be the first official release from the LP and as usual, it's magical - what else did I expect? Trails and Ways are becoming extremely addictive, in a good sense. The haunting whistles and the clean cut beautiful guitar work make this track so very dreamy.

[Surf - Pop] Cayucas - Cayucos
I can't begin to explain to you how difficult it was to find any information on this band. I did however find out that Cayucos is a nice little beach town in California. Well, I can certainly say Cayucas sure make the right sort of music for any old beach town. Everything about "Cayucos" is catchy, from the way the lead verbalises "Ca-yu-cos" to the breaks for the cascading "wooos". Loving the casual guitar strum and the punctuating percussion.

[Indie - Rock] The Ross and the Sea Party - Thunder
LA quintet The Ross Sea Party have just released their debut album Hotel Pool and "Thunder" is just one of many highlights. It's a short song no doubt, but it sures packs a punch. Full of jangly guitars and rattling toy drums, this lightning two-minute track will have you shouting along in no time at all. From what I've heard, they sure seem to enjoy adding the old "whoah-oh-ohs" now and then in their songs - I'm sure you'll be singing along.

[Dream - Pop] Work Drugs - Tigerbeats
New stuff from Philadelphia's Work Drugs - "Tigerbeats". Must admit it took me awhile to get into this one, mainly because the vocals were a little annoying, but now they're just dreamy. Made as a tribute to one hell of a crazy show that they performed in Philly last July, "Tigerbeats" will no doubt have you dancing and singing along to the very catchy chorus. So yeah check it out and while you're at it, have a look at their old stuff as well.
